Sell ​​7.4 Million Lumia, Nokia still Loss on

Nokia managed to sell 7.4 million Lumia handsets based on Windows Phone in the second quarter of 2013. That number is the highest compared to the previous quarter, but unfortunately the Finnish vendor is still posted losses.

Nokia total sales reached USD 7.45 billion, down 24% from the previous year. They posted a loss of USD 150 million, lower than the previous year to reach USD 1.53 billion.

Nokia total mobile phone shipments reached 62 million in the quarter, down from number 84 million in the previous year. It is not separated from a weaker feature phone sales which rely Asha brand.

Nokia feature phone sales weakening the increasing number of cheap Android phones. Consumers who prefer Androi much cheaper than feature phones made ​​by Nokia.

Lumia sales improved though still not considered enough. Analysts said Nokia needs to record sales to 10 million units in order to secure its financial condition.

In order to lend more, Nokia has recently released flagship Lumia handsets in 1020. The advantage is in sector 41-megapixel camera resolution.

"This product is fantastic. However remains to be seen whether the Lumia 1020 has enough differentiation," said Michael Walkley, analyst at Canaccord Genuity we quoted by Reuters.
