Lalu, kenapa menyertakan arsitektur 64-bit ini sekarang? AnandTech berspekulasi, mungkin hal itu dilakukan untuk mendorong para pengembang mengembangkan aplikasi 64-bit mulai saat ini. Tahun 2015 atau 2016 nanti ketika iPhone akhirnya memiliki RAM sebesar 4GB, aplikasi 64-bit pun sudah akan banyak tersedia sehingga memperlancar transisi.
