"We had left the family naming phones, such as the Curve and the Bold," Senior Country Product Manager BlackBerry Southeast Asia, Ardo Fadhola said, on the sidelines of the launch of the BlackBerry 9720 in Jakarta.

Previously, Ardo said, the name used for the Curve and Pearl phones that targets the family market to lower middle class, Torch targeting the middle class, while the Bold is aimed at the upper middle market.

In addition to the four family names, there is also a family naming Huron BlackBerry phones. "But, Huron family phones less popular in Indonesia. We also have not made ​​a phone Huron family," Ardo said.

Abandoned since the naming system began marketing the BlackBerry mobile phone with the BlackBerry 10 operating system in early 2013.

Ardo explained , phone family naming system is deemed no longer needed because the target BlackBerry phones is now clear. BlackBerry 10 is positioned for the mid-market segment, while the mobile phone with BlackBerry OS targeting lower middle market segment.

The last cell phone use is a family naming BlackBerry Curve 9220 ( or so-called Davis ) and Curve 9320 ( Armstrong ).

Now, BlackBerry OS -based phones will use the naming system uses a four-digit number, such as the BlackBerry 9720. While based BlackBerry 10 phones, naming system uses the letters in front and followed by a number, such as the Z10, Z30, Q5 and Q10.
