Instagram users will see the content of the ad in the months ahead. This was done in an effort to make money from the popular photo sharing service.
Content first ad will be displayed for users in the United States. In a publication on the company's official blog, Instagram stated that the ad could be a photograph or a video of the brand owner.
Nevertheless, Instagram gives users an option if there is no want to see the ad. "If you see an ad that is not liked, you can hide it and give you feedback on something that feels uncomfortable," wrote Instagram.
In addition to Facebook and Twitter, Instagram also began to be used to promote a variety of products or services for corporate brand owners.
Social networking services that previously did not show ads, often received harsh criticism from users when the service started advertising stalls.
However, Instagram should start looking for money from their services to support the operational costs and devise future business strategies. Because of all this, Instagram can not make a dime out of service, and simply rely on the funding from investors.
Moreover, business ads in mobile applications is currently growing pesar. According to research firm eMarketer, the predicted global brand owners spend 10 billion dollars on advertising in social networking internet.
Facebook is one of the companies that made it big in the advertising business on mobile devices.
Internet social networking site posted a revenue of 1,813 billion U.S. dollars in the second quarter of 2013. Greatest contribution comes from advertising, which amounted to 88 percent.
Facebook advantages of advertising in the second quarter of 2013 reached 1.6 billion U.S. dollars. The company said 41 percent of that amount or 656 million U.S. dollars generated thanks to advertising on mobile devices. This means, Facebook mobile advertising revenue grew 30 percent from the first quarter of 2013.
